Children's Ministries at Brookhaven UMC

All weekly activities take place in the children's room, which is on the main floor of the brick education building. Stop by for a tour if you're interested, or just join us on Sunday.

Children's Programs

Children's Sunday school – 9:45AM - 10:45AM
We use the "Grow - Proclaim - Serve"  Sunday School curriculum, which surveys the entire Bible over the course of three years. Our curriculum is specially designed for our one room setting, where children of all ages can learn with age-appropriate material, and older children get the opportunity to begin to learn leadership skills.
For our preteen children and youth, we offer a separate setting that allows the to explore the questions of faith they are often wondering about.

Children's Church – 11:15 AM

During the Worship hour, children third grade and under are invited to join us in for a special time of worship after the children's moment. Older children typically remain with their parents and participate in the entire worship service.  We also offer children's worship bulletins related to the days' lesson in activity bags at each entrance of the sanctuary.

Nursery care for infants and toddlers is also available from 9:45AM until the end of worship. We also offer rocking chairs in the sanctuary for parents who would like to remain with their children.

Brookhaven United Methodist Church follows the "Safe Sanctuaries" guidelines for United Methodist Churches. All teachers, church staff, and nursery workers have had training and criminal background checks, and all activities involving children and youth require at least two unrelated adults to be present. We take our responsibility to protect our children seriously!
