Skip comes to Brookhaven after vocational work in congregational, academic and pastoral care and counseling settings. He has served churches in Texas and the Atlanta area. Skip was raised in North Carolina, where he still has family, but lives in Gwinnett County with his wife, Dale Ann, and their amazing daughter, Bethany.
Skip’s passion lies with the reality of divine grace, a grace that can be realized through everyday relationships with God and neighbor and which can be encountered through the community of the local church. He celebrates the good gift of life that is bestowed through Jesus Christ and the ongoing availability of redemption.
He is often caught short by the wonder of God’s creation and the surprising movement of the Holy Spirit that can illuminate the smallest moments of the day.
Don is thrilled to be welcomed with such open arms into the community of the Brookhaven United Church. Don was raised Roman Catholic (and was even an altar boy!) at St. Mary’s church in the small, vacation town of Wells, Maine. It was there where he realized his love of music. Don eventually left Maine to spend two years at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan where he studied classical piano and got his high school diploma. After studying at New England Conservatory and receiving his Bachelor of Music degree, cum laude, from Long Island University, he made a name for himself in NYC as an organist and pianist. In addition to theatrical and jazz performances, he worked for a Roman Catholic Church as well as a Unitarian Church, but spent his last 9 years in New York as the choir director and organist for a Presbyterian congregation. Don is thrilled for the chance to worship God with such a faithful, caring group of people and looks forward to what He has in store as we move forward together!
